Dr. Kurt Jung
Dr. Jung graduated from Stony Brook University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 2007. While at Stony Brook, he competed in Division I athletics as a member of the University’s baseball team. In 2012 Dr. Jung completed his study of Optometry at Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, TN). He graduated with clinical honors in adult primary care and pediatrics. He also received recognition for advanced fitting of specialty contact lenses. While at SCO he was the national student representative to the American Optometric Association Sports Vision Section and has worked as a performance vision trainer. Before returning to Virginia, he was practicing in Phoenix, Arizona, and was named one of three best pediatric optometrists by threebestrated.com.
Dr. Jung and his wife Lindsay (who is also an optometrist) are happy to be back in Virginia after their time on the West Coast. They have four sons Maddox, Knox, Paxton, Xander and their dog Louie. They love the outdoors, golf, and sports in general.
Having a large prescription at a young age, the optometrist was the only doctor he enjoyed going to as a child. “What drew me to the field of Optometry is how much of an impact you can have on an individual’s quality of life. This can be through treating medical conditions, reducing strain at work or enhancing sports performance.”
